What excites you most about the acquisition by KBM Group?

At Marketing Direct, we have spent 13 years assembling a great team, establishing the best processes and refining our business model.  So, I am most excited that the global leader in direct marketing has now validated our hard work and vision.  KBM Group has determined that the work we do for our clients is unique and will add value to its already expansive direct marketing efforts.  I am thrilled that our employees have an opportunity to take their careers to another level as part of the KBMG family.

What should excite MDI’s clients about this acquisition?

KBM Group will offer our current and future clients limitless scalability when it comes to the tools that have propelled direct marketing to a $149 billion industry. In our many long-standing client relationships, we have been responsible for introducing the power of data and analytics to their marketing plans, and we have helped them acquire millions of new customers.  Consequently, most have exponentially expanded their use of data and analytics and continually reap the benefits of remarkable insight into the identities and behaviors of their best customers and prospects. As the leader in knowledge-based marketing solutions, KBM Group brings our current and future clients new opportunities to access these tools on a broader scale.

Who is KBM Group?

Headquartered in Richardson, Texas, KBM Group is the global leader in knowledge-based marketing solutions. KBM Group’s solutions include strategic consulting, digital services, database services, analytics, marketing management, response services, data and marketing outsourcing. Experts in both digital and traditional direct marketing, KBM Group helps its clients -- most of them in the Fortune 1000 -- manage, analyze and optimize marketing data to engage more effectively with their customers and prospects. Including MDI, the company has 16 offices in nine countries serving global, enterprise and B2B2C-focused companies.

Why did KBM Group acquire MDI?

As I’ve mentioned, we think that the acquisition of MDI strengthens and broadens KBM Group’s existing products and services for the healthcare market, augmenting its capabilities with a wide array of agency services such as creative and media placement including digital media channels.  MDI also brings lead-generation and sales-force automation capabilities. And our consulting expertise in healthcare contributes to and deepens KBM Group’s strategic capabilities for this industry.  By joining forces with MDI, KBM Group will be able to accelerate its efforts to help organizations across the healthcare ecosystem create more meaningful engagements with the ultimate goal of improving healthcare outcomes and reducing the overall cost of healthcare services.

How will this affect Marketing Direct Inc.’s employees and the MDI brand?

The MDI brand is being phased out relatively quickly.  The combined organization will be marketed going forward as “KBM Group: Health Services.”  However, KBM Group acquired MDI for its very particular set of capabilities, embodied in its people, and that will not change. Our clients will still benefit from their existing MDI relationships and will have continued access to the expertise they have come to expect from MDI.
